Location: Paramus, NJ (Hybrid. 3 days)

Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PMI-ACP) is a plus.

Description:
We are seeking an experienced Sr.Project/Program Manager to lead multiple concurrent projects from initiation through execution and closure in the area of the regulated Utility Business. This role will be pivotal in guiding the application team's transition from a traditional waterfall methodology to Agile practices. The successful candidate will champion Agile principles, mentor the team, and drive the cultural shift required for successful Agile adoption. They will ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget while maintaining high quality. This position will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, development teams, and other functions to align priorities and remove impediments to project success.

Requirements:
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and manage parallel projects through the full project lifecycle
Facilitate the transition from waterfall to Agile practices, providing training, coaching, and mentorship to the application teams.
Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, risk registers, and other project artifacts.
Define project scopes, goals and deliverables that support business strategy in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation across multiple projects.
Facilitate Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and demos.
Identify and resolve project risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating as necessary.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, developers, and other functions, to align priorities and ensure project success.
Continuously improve project management practices and processes to enhance efficiency.
Manage project interdependencies and implement or make recommendations on mitigation options to upper management
Proactively manage changes in project/program scope, identify potential crises, and prepare contingency plans.
Determine and assess the need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitment in collaboration with senior management.
Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
Organize project post mortems and create a recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements to pay attention to for future projects
Coach/mentor team members on Project Management skills
Education / Experience / Background
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT project management
Proven experience successfully leading and managing parallel complex IT projects
Experience in working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Strong experience in managing onshore and offshore teams
Strong background in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
Expertise in facilitating Agile transformations and driving cultural change.
Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience in digital transformation projects
Proficient in project management tools and techniques (ex: Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet).
Excellent leadership, communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently
Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating
Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
Experience in leading contract project teams
Experience in digital transformation project
