CONCERN is a non-profit human services organization dedicated to providing child welfare, juvenile justice, and behavioral health services to children and their families. Since 1978, CONCERN has brought hope, offered opportunity, and inspired change in the communities that we serve.

We are searching for a part-time Behavioral Health Support Staff (BHSS) to join our team of therapists at one of our partner school districts in the Lehigh Valley and Northampton counties. The ideal candidate for this position will thrive in environments where no two days are the same and have a passion for helping children grow to their fullest potential. Working closely with the supervisor and master clinician, you will be responsible for implementing individualized treatment plans. Your goal will be to promote positive behaviors and interactions through a variety of evidenced based practices while modeling how and when to intervene with the child for caregivers in the home, school, and community settings. You may also assist with providing respite care in home and community settings through our respite program in select locations.

What Do I Need?

Education and Experience

BHSS I: High School Diploma or equivalent AND completion of a 40-hour training covering the RBT Task List (training is provided) OR Two (2) Years of experience in the provision of behavioral health services.

BHSS II: Associate degree AND completion of a 40-hour training covering the RBT Task List (training is provided) OR Two (2) Years of experience in the provision of behavioral health services.

BHSS III: Bachelor’s degree AND completion of a 40-hour training covering the RBT Task List (training is provided) OR Two (2) Years of experience in the provision of behavioral health services.

Other: Maintains required state and federal criminal and child abuse clearances, credentials and/or licenses. A driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

What Will I Do?

  • You will work collaboratively with the treatment team members to ensure the treatment plan is meeting the youth’s needs.
  • You will provide 1:1 support and interventions when required including behavior modification techniques and crisis intervention strategies as outlined in the treatment plan.
  • You will support caregivers and other adults working with the child in their efforts to stabilize the child by providing information, guidance, and modeling of intervention techniques.
  • You will assist in managing behavioral escalation by using de-escalation and behavior management techniques taught by the master’s clinician and/or supervisor.
  • You will effectively document daily progress and relay information to team members, supervisors, and other staff as required.
  • You will participate in individual and/or group supervision as required.
  • You may provide respite care services as assigned in select locations.

Hours of Work

Hours and location of work are determined by client needs.

What Will I Get?

Billable Rates (Time spent providing direct care to your client)

BHSS I: $18/hour
BHSS II: $19/hour
BHSS III: $20/hour
Administrative Pay (for anything done outside of direct client care)
Documentation/Travel between clients/Supervision/Training - $7.50/hour
