SummaryThe Call Center Associate handles all incoming calls, taking messages and relaying information in response to customer inquires, as well as operating the overhead paging system and pagers and recording in call logs.
EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED).
ExperienceA minimum of three months related experience in a health care environment and/or training in high volume call center operations. The successful candidate must demonstrate solid interpersonal communication and customer service skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Must have proven high proficiency with computers using MS Office and other software. Also must be proficient in call center telephone systems.
Problem solving ability and demonstrated initiative and responsibility required.
Responsibilities
- Initiates pages and emergency codes.
- Handles all incoming calls and inquiries on the switchboard and answering service.
- Calls are processed within departmental guidelines.
- Utilizes Call Center software, hardware and other hospital resources.
- Completes Release Of Information Requests After Hours.
- Enters and updates data in the On Call schedule accurately to promote quality patient care.
- Accesses the Electronic Medical Record to communicate patient appointments.
- Acts as the Resource Person on specified shift.
- Operates telecommunication equipment, answers and route calls to the appropriate department/personnel as part of the Hospital Switchboard.
