QualificationsThe successful candidate will have experience delivering specially designed instruction in reading, writing, math, and executive functioning skillsStrong written and oral communication skills are requiredMA DESE Licensure in moderate disabilities PreK-8 requiredResponsibilitiesThe Learning Center teacher is also responsible for the administration of standardized assessments and evaluations, including evaluation reports for special education initial and re-evaluation eligibility determinationsCollaboration and consultation with parents, general education teachers, and related services providers are essential components to the positionTo act as case manager in the evaluation process, monitor referrals, and maintain required formsTo assist in the development of appropriate educational plans as member of the Evaluation TEAMTo ensure the orderly and timely implementation of those educational plans developedTo work with school staff to promote maximum access to general education curriculum of children with special education and support models of inclusionIn cooperation with the Evaluation TEAM, School Psychologist and such other special education staff members, as involved, perform diagnostic and education assessments of children suspected of, or diagnosed as having, special educationAs part of school TEAM, to develop and implement teaching strategies using the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks that will ensure Special Education students access to the regular education curriculumAs part of a school TEAM, to design and support appropriate learning accommodations in the regular education classroomTo confer with the parents of special education studentsTo collaborate with other Special Educators and Regular Education Teachers as co-providers in implementing education plans
