Yes Job Summary / Basic Function We’re looking for reliable and upbeat applicants to join us at Concordia Language Villages to work full-time.

As an assistant cook, you will follow culturally authentic recipes, adjust based on special requests and work with a diverse group of staff under the direction of the Kitchen Coordinator.

You will present food that is not only delicious and cooked to the specifications of the meal, but that is safe and fresh as well. Willing to Train

You Will :

• Prepare food through multiple methods of baking, frying, broiling and grilling while using industrial kitchen equipment
• Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh
• Follow recipes, including weighing and mixing ingredients
• Maintain standard food levels during service times
• Present, garnish and arrange final dishes
• Occasionally serve food
• Set and clear tables for events
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment and dishes
• Handle and store ingredients and food
• Wash dishes
• Work with a group of diverse people from all over the world

Minimum Qualifications

• High School degree or GED, plus previous large quantity cooking experience or equivalent education and experience.
• Working knowledge of kitchen and production equipment.
• ServSafe certificate or similar food safety course certificate, or pass ServSafe exam within the first year of employment.
• Ability to organize and manage information and paperwork, including production and usage reports, recipes and necessary recipe adjustments.
• Flexibility to respond to changing needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Quantity cooking experience
• Supervisory experience and / or proven leadership qualities.
• Able to work a varied schedule including early mornings, evenings and weekends as necessary.
