Position Summary

Concordia University Wisconsin is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Part-Time University Supervisor for Student Teaching Observations. This role entails conducting onsite visits within K-12 schools throughout the state of Wisconsin. The ideal candidate will possess relevant K-12 teaching experience with a master's degree in education. The University Supervisor will play a crucial role in supporting and evaluating student teachers during their field experiences. The University Supervisor reports to the Assistant Dean in the School of Education.


Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct onsite visits to K-12 schools across Wisconsin to observe and evaluate student teachers during their field experiences.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to student teachers based on observed classroom performance.
  • Collaborate with cooperating teachers and university faculty to ensure alignment between program goals and classroom instruction.
  • Assess student teacher progress and performance according to established criteria and standards.
  • Complete evaluation reports and communicate feedback to student teachers, cooperating teachers, and university stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities as required by Concordia University Wisconsin.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Master's degree in education.
  • Relevant K-12 teaching experience with a minimum of three years of classroom experience.
  • Prior experience supervising or mentoring student teachers preferred
  • Familiarity with teacher preparation programs and accreditation standards preferred
  • Certification or licensure in education (e.g., teaching license, administrative license) preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of current educational practices, standards, and trends in K-12 education.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback to student teachers.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility to travel to various schools for onsite visits.
  • Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS)
