Job Description: Network Engineer
Quala is seeking an associate level Network Engineer for a contract opportunity. You will be working within a Redmond, WA based organization that is a leader in the software and consumer electronics industry. This is an opportunity to be part of a specialized internal IT team where your responsibilities will include working on both physical and virtual hardware.
The role will consist of 20% working physical hardware, 70% with cloud and virtual hardware, 10% troubleshooting and ticket work through helpdesk.
The ideal candidate will have experience with Azure services, configuration, and networking within an enterprise multi-site hybrid environment AND proven experience with Arista, Aruba and Palo Alto hardware and software.
Summary:
The main function of a Network Engineer is to determine user requirements and design specifications for computer networks. A typical network engineer is responsible for planning and implementing network upgrades.
Job Responsibilities:
•Adjust network sizes to meet volume or capacity demands
•Communicate with customers, sales staff, or marketing staff to determine customer needs
•Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs or upgrades
•Design, build, or operate equipment configuration prototypes, including network hardware, software, servers, or server operation systems
•Determine specific network hardware or software requirements such as platforms, interfaces, bandwidths, or routine schemas
•Develop and implement solutions for network problems
•Maintain multi-site connectivity, software applications, operating systems through regular maintenance
Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
•2-4 years' experience required
•Network/systems administration/related work experience required
•Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification a plus
•Minimum 6 months experience with Azure services
•Minimum 6 months experience with Arista
•Minimum 6 months experience with Aruba
•Minimum 6 months experience with Palo Alto
•Knowledge of computer hardware as it relates to data storage
•Knowledge of computer software, such as configuration management software, desktop communications software, operating system software and internet directory services software
•Experience with Azure services, configuration, and networking within an enterprise multi-site hybrid environment
•Experience with system planning and capacity tools and analyses
•Experience with connectivity, configuration, and performance between physical and virtual hardware
