Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Industrial Supervisor to join our Winnfield, LA team. This role is integral to ensuring the safety, efficiency, and quality of our electrical and maintenance operations. The successful candidate will lead and manage the electrical and instrumentation departments, focusing on cost management, technical excellence, and fostering a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Department Management: Oversee the electrical and instrumentation teams to enhance operational efficiencies and drive cost reduction initiatives.
• Technical Training: Deliver in-house training sessions to hourly staff, sharing technical knowledge and enhancing troubleshooting capabilities.
• Safety Leadership: Lead safety inspections and training programs to strengthen and promote our safety-first culture.
• Troubleshooting Support: Assist in diagnosing and resolving electrical, instrumentation, and control system issues to minimize equipment downtime.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of five years of experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Industry Background: Extensive maintenance experience in a sawmill or industrial environment.
• Leadership: Proven track record as a supervisor with strong leadership skills.
• Safety Expertise: Demonstrated knowledge of safety procedures, including NFPA 70E and Arc Flash.
• Quality Control: High awareness and application of quality control practices.
• Preventative Maintenance: Experience with preventative maintenance systems to minimize unscheduled downtime.
• Troubleshooting: Skilled in troubleshooting to ensure optimal uptime, production volume, and quality targets are met.
• Training: Ability to effectively utilize training resources to maximize team members' technical skills.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Financial Acumen: Understanding of accounting and financial metrics relevant to mill operations.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant computer applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education: Associate's degree or higher in Engineering, Industrial Electronics, or a related field.
• Hands-on Electrical Knowledge: Practical experience in a plant environment, with expertise in National Electrical Codes, OSHA regulations, AC VFDs, medium voltage equipment, and PLC programming/troubleshooting.
