Job Description

We are seeking an organized and driven accounts payable professional with a strong attention to detail to join our accounting team. The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for the processing and monitoring of all transactions related to the accounts payable cycle. This position will require daily communication with outside vendors and other business units within the organization. This is an entry level accounting position with the opportunity to develop the role and take on additional responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Process all vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Reconcile vendor invoices against open purchase orders.
• Communicate with vendors regarding discrepancies in billing.
• Coordinate and process scheduled payment batches and compile supporting documentation.
• Organize set up of new vendors and complete vendor set up packets
• Reconcile and record company credit card activity.
• Review freight expense activity and reconcile against customer invoices.
• Assist with ad-hoc accounting projects as needed

Requirements

• Strong experience with Microsoft office products including excel
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Exceptional customer service skills
• One to three years of experience in a similar accounting position
• Basic understanding of accounting principles
• Willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
