Located in the City of Commerce

Responsibilities

· The Accounts Payable Specialist collaborates and provides strong leadership within our Finance and Accounting team to ensure the timely and smooth operations of core financial and accounting processes.

· The position requires organization, an ability to share responsibilities with your fellow team members, attention to detail and an ability to explain accounts payables processes to non-accounting team members.

· Partner with team members to ensure the timely processing of a wide variety of accounts payable transactions, including accurate coding and data entry within our accounting systems, obtaining approval to pay, and conducting three-way matching.

· Collaborate with our vendors to maintain their accounts including regular review of aging statements and other reconciliation activities.

· Solve invoice discrepancies and handle vendor inquiries, including resolution of any critical or escalated vendor payment issues.

· Manage recurring processes including weekly check run, wires and rush payments, vendor set-up, and regular reviews of open payables and outstanding checks.

· Reconcile corporate credit card accounts and compile back-up for payment review.

· Review and prepare approved month end journal entries.

· Assist with annual audit requests.

· Maintain performance metrics including volume of transactions, frequency and nature of vendor inquiries and related analytics.

· Ad hoc projects as requested

Qualifications

· The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge and experience of managing accounts payables transactions in accordance with GAAP and related standards.

· At least 3-5 years of apparel industry accounting experience with emphasis in AP

· Associate, College Degree and/or coursework in Finance/Accounting/Economics

· Highly organized, detail oriented, with a high level of accuracy

· Proactive and able to work effectively as a member of a larger team.

· Able to work well under pressure with multiple tasks and deadlines.

· Proficient in data entry with strong Excel, Word and email skills

· Strong Excel skills with ability to do Pivot Tables, V-lookups and Macros.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Able to respond to vendors, consultants, and staff in a timely and professional manner

· Knowledge of A2000 a plus, but not required

· Take the lead in implementing Concur and developing a reimbursement policy

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.65 - $27.79 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
