About the Role
The Company is seeking a Controller & Chief Accounting Officer for its Commingled Retail Investor Funds. The successful candidate will be responsible for the oversight of all finance and accounting operations related to investment funds designed for individual investors. This includes serving as the CAO for an SEC-registered investment company operating interval funds with a focus on infrastructure and private equity investments. The role involves managing financial reporting, providing strategic financial guidance, ensuring compliance with SEC regulations, and developing strong working relationships across various departments and with external partners. The individual will also be involved in the financial and accounting aspects of the Funds' Investment Advisor.Applicants must have a BA/BS in Accounting, a CPA, and at least 8 years' of professional experience in investment management accounting and operations, with a preference for those with a background in the financial services industry and experience in the mutual fund sector. Knowledge of the Investment Company Act of 1940 and SEC regulations is highly valued. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and managerial skills, as well as the ability to work in a cross-functional team and manage organizational change. A background in Big 4 public accounting and experience with SOX 404 compliance is also beneficial. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, collaborative, and adept at handling a high-pressure environment with strict deadlines.
