About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Development Officer for its new College of Osteopathic Medicine. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of a pioneering effort to expand access to medical education, particularly in addressing the critical shortage of physicians in rural populations. The role involves overseeing all aspects of fundraising, including major donor identification, strategic initiative planning and execution, solicitations, and relationship development. The Chief Development Officer will also manage the identification and reporting of grants and proposals, as well as assess and create comprehensive development plans to increase fundraising over a five-year period. Collaboration with senior leadership and other university personnel is essential for a coordinated fundraising campaign.Applicants for the Chief Development Officer position should have a strong background in fundraising, with experience in managing a prospect and donor portfolio. The role requires the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with potential donors and a track record of successful fundraising, particularly in the area of major and principal gifts. A strategic approach to fundraising, the ability to work with a newly developing College of Osteopathic Medicine, and a commitment to the mission of expanding access to medical education are also key. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to identify new sources of public and private grant funding and write compelling grant proposals. A degree in a relevant field and knowledge of the healthcare or education sector would be advantageous.
