About the Role

The Company is seeking a Deputy Chief Financial Officer to serve as the primary advisor to the CFO on all financial management matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and management in budgeting, accounting, financial systems development and operations, strategic planning, performance measurement, internal controls, and risk management. This role involves ensuring that financial initiatives adhere to objectives, policies, and deadlines, as well as supervising the efficiency of the school system's financial departments to maximize educational opportunities for students. The Deputy CFO will also oversee the implementation of financial projects and strategic plan initiatives, review processes for management decision-making, and maintain a multi-year financial outlook.Applicants must hold a Connecticut School Business Administrator certification (085) and possess a Master's degree or equivalent experience in school or business administration, accounting, or a related area. A minimum of 8 years of successful management experience in financial and/or operations management is required, with a preference for those with special study or experience in school finance. The role demands executive-level experience in a large organization, preferably in a public school district setting, and a proven track record of strategic thinking and innovative financial leadership. Strong analytical skills, knowledge of educational finance principles, and experience with financial accounting software are essential. The ideal candidate will have a collaborative management style, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholder groups.
