About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director for Foundation Relations to play a pivotal role in the strategic philanthropic planning and fundraising activities. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the completion of a multi-billion-dollar campaign, engaging with local, national, and international foundation partners to secure philanthropic investments that advance the University's mission and goals. This leadership position requires a highly strategic and knowledgeable individual with a proven track record in securing six- and seven-figure gifts, as well as the ability to manage a large team of foundation relations professionals. The Executive Director will be responsible for strategy development, fundraising, and relationship management, and must be adept at fostering strong connections with diverse groups, from faculty to top foundation leaders.Applicants for the Executive Director role must have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7-10 years' experience in foundation and/or major gifts fundraising. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal skills, the ability to lead and motivate a team, and a high degree of emotional intelligence. A successful candidate will be ambitious, with an entrepreneurial mindset, and demonstrate the ability to drive results and manage a complex, matrix environment with finesse. The role also requires the candidate to be a strategic thinker, capable of developing and managing a portfolio of top foundation prospects, and to have a deep understanding of the academic and scientific pursuits of the university. Experience in a large-scale, complex academic research setting and a Master's degree are preferred qualifications.
