About the Role
The Company is seeking a full-time Executive Director of Public Safety and Emergency Management to oversee the security and safety functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for the proper administration and efficient operation of these functions to maintain a safe and secure environment that is conducive to the educational objectives of the campus community. This role involves developing and implementing policies and procedures, supervising security staff, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. The Executive Director will also be tasked with crisis and emergency response planning, as well as serving as a liaison with law enforcement and governmental agencies.Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, a current, valid certificate as a peace or police officer, and a valid New York State pistol permit. The role requires a minimum of 5 years' of experience in strategic and operational planning, budgeting, and supervision, and 7 years' of progressive experience in a law enforcement leadership role. A Master's degree and experience in a union setting are preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in security management, including training, and experience in incident command. The Executive Director will be expected to manage a budget, allocate resources, and participate in institutional assessment activities.
