We’re seeking an experienced Controller to oversee our US operations. The ideal candidate will have experience as an accountant in our industry, preferably in a senior role. As a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst, this person will streamline our budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting processes. The Controller will also produce thorough financial-status reports for senior managers to help improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

• Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and review periodic financial statements and reports.
• Manage the AR collection.

Compliance and Internal Controls:

• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and relevant financial regulations.
• Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to protect company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Lead internal and external audit processes and ensure timely tax filings and compliance.
• Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, adhering to national and local legal standards while staying updated

on proposed legislation.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Support the preparation of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.
• Analyze budget variances and work with department heads to manage financial performance.
• Provide detailed financial analysis and modeling to support business decisions.

Strategic Planning:

• Partner with senior leadership to develop financial strategies aligned with business goals.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities and provide actionable recommendations.

Team Leadership:

• Foster a cross functional collaborative and dynamic work environment that promotes continuous improvement.
• Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members.

Compliance and reporting

• Support efforts to achieve and maintain SOC 2 compliance.
• Participate in preparing for a potential IPO by developing financial controls aligned with public company standards.
• Assist in readiness for SEC reporting and other regulatory standards as part of a collaborative team.

Revenue and Cost Management:

Maintain internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, and organizational budgets and actual expenditures.

• Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows.

Tax Reporting and Compliance:

• Oversee and manage the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.
• Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and timely payment of tax obligations.
• Work with external tax advisors to optimize the company’s tax position and manage any audits or inquiries from tax authorities.
• Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations and implement necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Professional Experience: Eight or more years of professional accounting experience, with a strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting.
• Payroll Management: Experience in managing payroll, focusing on streamlining accounting processes.
• Financial Project Management: Exemplary history of financial project management.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA preferred).
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Industry Experience: Four or more years of experience as a senior-level accounting or finance manager, preferably in the tech or startup sector.
• Professional Certification: Professional certification, such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CA (Chartered Accountant).
• Startup Environment: Experience in a rapidly growing startup environment with a familiarity in venture-backed financing and investor reporting.
