About the Role

The Company is seeking a General Counsel with a strong background in mission-driven legal practice to join their team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the company's growth and financial success by providing top-tier legal support to the CEO, functional leaders, and the board. This includes leading legal diligence, ensuring compliance in all legal, regulatory, and corporate governance matters, and handling a variety of commercial and industrial project development, finance, and asset management issues. The General Counsel will also be responsible for building collaborative relationships across the organization, overseeing regulatory compliance, and managing the company's legal team. A commercial approach to legal advice, the ability to manage competing priorities, and a commitment to the high integrity and values of the company are essential.Applicants for the General Counsel position at the company must have a JD from an accredited institution, be qualified to practice law in the U.S., and ideally have 8-10 years of energy-related experience. Significant experience in commercial finance, asset finance, and M&A, particularly in the context of renewable energy, is highly desirable. The role requires a self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a proven track record of handling legal matters independently. Experience in managing a legal team is preferred, and a commitment to the company's mission and values is essential. The position is open to candidates in the greater Boston area, with a possibility for remote work, and may involve some travel.
