About the Role

The Company is seeking a Managing Director to lead its local office, with a focus on the protection of unaccompanied and separated children who are forcibly displaced. The successful candidate will be responsible for the seasoned and effective management of the field office, including program and performance management, budgeting, and development-support functions. This role is pivotal in championing the organization's mission, engaging with government, private sector partners, and community stakeholders, and supervising a team of legal and non-legal staff. The Managing Director will also provide mentoring to pro bono attorneys and may engage in direct legal representation for the company's clients.Applicants must have a J.D. and be admitted to the state bar, with a minimum of 7 years' of experience in practicing immigration law, particularly in humanitarian immigration claims. Additionally, a minimum of 5 years' working with children or vulnerable populations, and 4 years' of supervisory experience, is required. The role demands a strong record of cultural competence, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. Experience in program management, working with legal volunteers, and a deep understanding of the issues facing the target population are essential. The ideal candidate will also have a background in national or larger management structures and a proven ability to lead with authenticity, transparency, and collaboration.
