Job Title: Senior Accountant, Renewable Energy

Work Schedule: One day a week in office/ 4 days a week from home.

Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced and highly analytical Senior Accountant specialized in the renewable energy sector to join our dynamic team. In this position, you will demonstrate expertise in a variety of accounting practices, including internal audits and budget preparations. You must have a keen attention to detail and maintain account balances, financial statements, general ledger files, and records. You will be open to international travel twice a year.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with acceptable accounting principles and company policies.
2. Interact with and report direct to CFO on company finances.
3. Perform regular internal audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
4. Oversee the preparation of the company's budget and financial forecasts.
5. Monitor accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivables, general ledger accounts, and distributions to shareholders.
6. Review journal entries for appropriate coding and approval, as well as the accuracy of information posted to the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers.
7. Mentor junior staff and oversee their work for accuracy and compliance.
8. Travel internationally twice a year for meetings and industry events.
9. Ensure all financial operations are in line with current legal regulations.
10. Analyze and prepare reports on specific financial topics relevant to the renewable energy industry.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
2. Proven work experience as a senior accountant with a minimum of 5 years, preferably in the renewable energy industry.
3. Comprehensive understanding of MS Excel and accounting software principles.
4. Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, practices, and applications.
5. Impeccable math skills and experience with financial analysis.
6. Knowledge of federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication and leadership skills.
8. High attention to detail and accuracy.
9. Willingness to travel internationally twice a year.
10. Strong presentation skills, able to explain complex financial information in understandable terms to non-financial management.
