About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Counsel to play a pivotal role in providing legal support to its business unit, with a focus on global commercial and transactional activities, including mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions. The successful candidate will be a key player in driving and completing complex legal projects, as well as handling day-to-day legal issues. This is a generalist position that requires a broad-based legal and business skill set, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions. The role also involves supporting various commercial agreements, capital projects, and providing strategic input on operational and sustainability goals. The Senior Counsel will be expected to manage claims and litigation, advise on labor and employment law, and ensure compliance with domestic and global regulatory matters.Applicants must have a Bachelor's and J.D. degree from an accredited law school, be admitted to practice law in at least one jurisdiction, and have a minimum of 10 years of experience as a licensed attorney, with at least 5 years in-house with a global manufacturing company. Mergers & Acquisitions experience, ESG experience, and the ability to speak multiple languages are preferred. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple transactions effectively. A proactive approach to identifying and mitigating legal risks, as well as the ability to work independently and with diverse cultures, is essential for this role.
