Confidential is Hiring a Server Administrator Near New York, NY

We are seeking a Server Administrator. This individual will be tasked with day to day management and operations of an enterprise class windows server environment. This will include but, not limited to being responsible for all Windows servers, server backups, and be the primary contact for support of helpdesk/users. Will also be tasked with IT/Infrastructure/Windows related projects.

Key Responsibility areas:

  • Windows server, AD, and Microsoft Exchange server maintenance and administrative work – adhering to best practice.
  • VMware management, installation, maintenance and administrative work.
  • Act as a bridge between Technical team and PC helpdesk;
  • Responsible for Proactive monitoring of critical systems.
  • Compile reports for JSOX (weekly, monthly, quarterly) from backup systems, Remote access and physical security.
  • Troubleshoot problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide excellent customer service to end users.
  • Manage the backup environment and provide weekly reports.
  • Other duties as Respond to an after-hours emergency page for a network, server down or other issues.
  • Assisted Tier 1 & 2 Help Desk with escalations for issues such as network/server performance, crashed file servers, or other more complicated issues.
  • Act as a technical liaison between third-party software/hardware vendors to deliver necessary solution for the corporation.
  • Produce and maintain existing documentation and run book technical guides (e.g., admin procedures, SLAs, etc.).
  • Qualifications/Technologies:
  • Undergraduate degree in related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience with hardware & software under Enterprise Windows servers.
  • Strong Windows , Exchange, VMware and AD required.
  • Excellent Knowledge of a range of Server/Client Security solutions such as VPN and Antivirus and firewall.
  • Active directory
  • Scripting / PowerShell
  • Server Administration including Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Upgrade and expand a storage arrays.
  • Server hardware installations, upgrades, and migrations of essential AD services and rollout projects.
  • Troubleshoot / resolve hardware, software, and network issues with Windows systems as required.
  • Performed a migration to Office365 Hosted Exchange.
  • Planned a WAN cut-over in coordination with vendors, team members, and client.
  • Install/Support WiFi infrastructures.
  • Install, update and configure firewalls a plus
  • Install and troubleshoot backup and recovery solutions.
  • Install and troubleshoot network devices such as switches, networked printers/scanners, wireless access points, etc.
  • Help create and use procedures to ensure standardization across client networks
  • Continually increase your knowledge base to stay current with technological advances
  • Ensure IT hardware, software, and networking equipment are managed and maintained in accordance with processes, procedures and guidelines.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining network user’s accounts, user environment, directories and security.
  • Research and evaluate technologies.
  • Test and install Server and network software upgrades.
  • Collect and analyze network and system performance/utilization information and maintenance of systems for optimal working ability.
  • Work closely with other staff to achieve needed IT administration and support.
  • Performed configuration changes or a cut-over after-hours.
  • Drafted a network diagram of a client environment.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and reporting skills required.
  • This position requires the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, remain effective under stress, and work extended hours outside the range of the regular schedule.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) required.
  • Some travel - Position includes traveling between all Company facilities and affiliated sites.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
