Exciting Opportunity for Testing and Validation Leader!

Join us in Chelsea, Michigan, as we pave the way for the future of automotive testing and validation. We're seeking a driven individual to lead our testing, validation, and certification activities, making a tangible impact on the next generation of vehicles.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead testing, validation, and certification activities primarily in-vehicle or on the chassis dyno, with occasional support on the engine dynamometer.
  • Take charge of preparing test articles, ensuring they meet program needs, and validating instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute testing on the chassis dynamometer or in application to support program objectives.
  • Analyze and interpret test results, providing valuable insights to guide future testing requirements.
  • Calibrate and validate electronic control unit parameters to achieve program drivability and emissions objectives.
  • Conduct projects with the utmost professionalism, consistently meeting or exceeding our clients' technical and timing expectations within budget constraints.
  • Summarize findings and prepare presentations/reports for internal and customer review.
  • Manage customer hardware and project component inventory and logistics.
  • Be prepared for onsite work at customer facilities and vehicle test trips to support ongoing development programs.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • 3 years of experience in engine, vehicle, and/or powertrain testing.
  • Experience in vehicle drivability or emissions calibration.
  • Deep understanding of conventional and hybrid powertrain components and their functionality.
  • Proficiency in powertrain/vehicle testing, calibration, data acquisition, analysis, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with engine and powertrain diagnostics.
  • Understanding of base engine, aftertreatment, and/or hybrid electronic control system strategies, including knowledge of software logic implementation and control system functionality.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute testing/calibration projects and provide feedback and technical reports to customers, peers, and supervisors.
  • Strong teamwork, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel in support of vehicle calibration development trips.
  • Experience using commercially available calibration and development tools (e.g., ETAS INCA, ATI Vision, Vector CANape/CANalyzer, Matlab/Simulink).
  • Excellent professional communication skills in oral and written English.
  • Motivated team player capable of thriving in a fast-paced development environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of control strategies employed on Bosch and/or GPEC controllers.
  • Programming skills (e.g., Excel/Visual Basic, MATLAB).
  • Experience with Drivability evaluation tools (e.g., MATLAB-based tools, AVL Drive, etc.).
  • Experience in performing limit handling of vehicles, different terrain driving, performance driving on test tracks, driving in convoys, etc.
  • Possession of a commercial driver's license.
  • Ability to work in extreme climate environments to support vehicle test trips.
  • Strong understanding of US emission regulations and certification test procedures for Gas, Diesel, and/or Hybrid systems.
  • Understanding of US OBD regulations and monitoring approaches.
  • Hands-on experience with engine and vehicle hardware (e.g., engine assembly/rebuilding, vehicle maintenance, etc.).
  • US citizenship or Permanent Residence status is a plus.
