About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Data Science for its Marketplace division. The successful candidate will be a strategic leader, responsible for the data science and machine learning teams. This role involves building collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, setting priorities aligned with business goals, and leading the development and implementation of machine learning models that enhance the company's ability to predict costs, prices, and sourcing options. The VP will also be tasked with leading complex, cross-team projects, exploring new machine-learning opportunities, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of the platform. A strong emphasis is placed on leadership experience, particularly in an e-commerce or marketplace environment, and the ability to excite, grow, and lead a team of data scientists.Applicants for this role at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with an M.S. or Ph.D. preferred, and at least 10 years of leadership experience in a data science, analytics, and engineering setting. The role requires a candidate with a proven track record of leadership, strong communication skills, and the ability to influence others. The ideal candidate will be mission-driven, collaborative, and adept at managing multiple projects.
