About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Teaching and Learning to serve as the Chief Academic Officer and Accreditation Liaison Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, staffing, leading, and controlling of the academic division. This includes overseeing the college's program of study and curriculum, the assessment of student learning, and the faculty and adjuncts. The role involves developing, writing, and implementing academic plans, policies, and procedures, and ensuring compliance with the Higher Learning Commission and other regulatory bodies. The Vice President will also manage the Office of Admissions and Student Records and the college library, and will be expected to support and mentor peers, model leadership, and foster effective teamwork.Applicants for this position must have a Master's degree (Doctorate preferred) and at least three years of experience in an administrative role within a tribal college, community college, or university. Experience in student learning assessment, accreditation, and program review is essential, with previous college-level teaching being highly preferred. The role requires proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, a valid driver's license, and the ability to manage multiple activities, work independently, and collaborate with individuals holding diverse opinions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary, as is the ability to handle confidential information with tact. The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, with a genuine interest in supporting higher education and the local community.
