About the Role

The Company is seeking a VP for Consumer Bank PR to lead the strategic external communications for its consumer banking segment. The successful candidate will be responsible for both proactive and reactive media relations, crisis and issues management, and will play a key role in promoting and defending the company's reputation. This includes developing and implementing comprehensive communication plans, engaging with media to build awareness of consumer banking strategy, and being prepared to manage complex situations. The role also involves thought leadership, special projects, and a strong focus on aligning communications with business objectives.Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, or journalism, with a preference for a graduate degree or APR accreditation. A minimum of 10 years' experience in public relations and media relations, including work as a spokesperson, is required, with a background in the financial services industry being preferred. The role demands exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to manage complex projects in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be a skilled strategist, have a strong executive presence, and demonstrate high emotional intelligence. Responsibilities also include creating content for various communication channels, analyzing data, and continually integrating new technology and best practices.
