About the Role
The Company is seeking a VP Regulatory Affairs for North America to join their Government Affairs team. The successful candidate will be a key member, responsible for the company's regulatory policy activities in the region. This role involves engaging with leaders and staff at various regulatory agencies, including but not limited to the Federal Communications Commission and the Department of Commerce, to influence policy and rulemaking. The VP Regulatory Affairs will also work closely with the DC Office and Government Relations team to develop advocacy activities directed at Congress and the Executive Branch.A primary focus of the position is to enhance the company's relationships with regulatory agencies, positioning the company as a thought leader in technology policy. The role requires a deep technical expertise to contribute to rulemakings and policy development. The VP Regulatory Affairs will collaborate with colleagues in corporate affairs and business groups to identify issues that require advocacy to advance the company's business goals, and then develop and execute engagement strategies, advocacy, and written submissions. As the regulatory lead, the individual will be the main point of contact for government and industry stakeholders and will manage a team of experts to support regulatory and policy work. The ideal candidate for the VP Regulatory Affairs role at the company will have a proven track record in regulatory and policy advocacy, particularly in the technology sector. A strong background in engaging with regulatory agencies and a deep understanding of the regulatory environment in North America are essential. The role requires excellent communication and influencing skills, the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and a strategic approach to advancing the company's business goals through regulatory and policy initiatives. A background in law, public policy, or a related field is typically required, and experience in a similar role within the technology or telecommunications industry is highly valued.
