About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President, Translational Science to join their team. The successful candidate will be a scientific and strategic thought leader, playing a key role in the development and building of the pipeline. This position is pivotal in bringing biology and pharmacology expertise to bridge translational medicine environments and support the creation of innovative therapeutic products. The VP will be responsible for establishing and maintaining strong external partnerships, particularly in the field of ophthalmology, and will work closely with internal experts across the organization to drive translational strategy from preclinical development through to early clinical development.Applicants must have a PhD or MD/PhD in a related life sciences field, with a minimum of 15 years' of experience, 10 of which should be in a pharmaceutical or industry setting. The role requires a recognized scientific leader with superior knowledge in drug development, particularly in anterior and posterior segment eye care diseases. The VP will be expected to design and execute non-clinical experiments, establish stage-appropriate project translational strategies, and contribute to hypothesis-driven study design. Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills are essential. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in moving therapeutic programs forward and experience in both preclinical and clinical development, with a focus on ophthalmology.
