Job Title: Electrical Engineering Technician
Rate: $30.88/hr
Location: Northyards ATL GA 30313
Background:
The EE team is responsible for the design of the Electrical systems of the unit, including PCAs, cables, and purchased devices. In support of this responsibility, we perform prototype development and lab testing—both for development and verification. The successful candidate will be hands-on using test equipment, troubleshooting system issues, build test fixtures, run tests, collect data, analyze results, and draft reports. He/she will also maintain neat and orderly organization of the lab, ensure lab equipment and tools are available and in good working order, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• BSEE, BSEET, or equivalent experience as a lab technician
• 2 years experience testing new products in a professional lab environment.
• Experience with bring-up of new PCA designs and unit test.
• Experience working with embedded electronics and control systems and CAN bus are preferred.
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and component datasheets.
• Participate in prototype builds and collaborating with other engineering functions.
• Ability to troubleshoot system-level and board-level defects on PCAs and Cables.
• Ability to write test automation scripts using consoles such as TeraTerm or Putty.
• Perform signal integrity measurements.
• Experience using DMMs, Oscilloscopes, and other electrical test equipment.
• Proficient hand soldering skill and SMT rework.
• Experience designing and debugging test fixtures.
• Familiarity hand tools and small powered shop tools for building test fixtures.
• Ability to work with low voltage DC (0-40V) as well as AC Mains (120-240AC).
• Excellent communication skills—both written and oral.
• Works well individually and collaborating in teams.
• Works well in fast-paced environment supporting multiple projects and changing priorities.
• Ability to prioritize daily tasks with minimum supervision and maintain on-time delivery.
• Maintains clean and safe lab environment on daily basis.
• Willing to wear appropriate PPE at all times in the lab.
Work Environment:
Generally, office and lab environment, with some travel to manufacturing sites. Should be able to perform computer skills in office environment, run experiments, lift loads up to 25 lbs. Must set a safety example (ie: wear appropriate personal protective equipment).
Preferred Qualifications:
• IPC 610 and 620 Certification
