POSITION SUMMARY

Provide an engaging experience and safe space for the Sunday School Elementary children on Sunday mornings while supporting the ministry of the church.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up the Sunday school room at 9:45 AM on Sunday mornings.
• Prepare to teach the lesson with the curriculum provided.
• Attend worship at 10:00 am until Children’s Time and then transition the children from worship to the classroom.
• Engage the children in through creative story exploration, and otherwise provide a happy, wholesome experience in teaching the provided curriculum.
• Monitor the condition of facilities, equipment, and supplies and alert the Christian Education Director with needs or concerns.
• By 11:45 AM, ensure the room is clean, all teaching materials Return all teaching materials their proper bins and location. Return children to their parents. If you finish before 11:45 AM, provide assistance in the nursery, Godly Play, & Confirmation as needed.
• Comply and execute the Safe Church Policy of the Congregational Church of Birmingham United Church of Christ.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Hours: 9:45AM-11:45PM each Sunday. From the Sunday after Labor Day to the Sunday before Memorial Day. Reasonable absences are expected. Notice must be given to the Senior Pastor and Director of Christian Education Director seven days in advance unless in case of illness or family emergency

Salary: Salary commensurate with experience. Position is part time, and as such, no benefits are offered.

All potential employees must pass a background check prior to employment.

Pay: $80.00 - $100.00 per week
