Congressional is Hiring a Financial Analyst I Near Oakton, VA

The Financial Analyst provides financial information to support organizational operations by conducting financial analyses, projecting cash flows, tracking investment performance, maintaining vendor and other financial data, and reporting on products and services lines.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs financial and business line analysis and reporting, including deposit and loan rate reporting and analysis, and monthly data update and maintenance of our in-house ALM system.
  • Provides assistance to and serves as backup for in-house ALM model.
  • Gathers data on investment performance to track, analyze and report on investment performance.
  • Updates, maintains, analyzes and reports on the organization’s activity based costing software.
  • Prepare organizational cash flow projections and funding requirement maintenance.
  • Performs back-testing on various organization reports to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Updates, maintains, analyzes and reports on the organization’s Troubled Debt Restructured (TDR) loans.
  • Enhances current report and analysis processes, develops new processes where appropriate, and maintains up to date procedures.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • A four-year college degree in Business or Finance is required.
  • Six months to two years of similar or related experience.
  • Two years of work experience in a financial institution.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills required.
  • Proficiency using Excel, including pivot tables, query-writing and utilizing formulas.
  • Experience using Word and PowerPoint.
  • Must be proficient with general office equipment and computers/software.
  • A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required.
  • In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature.
  • Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
  • Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers.

Physical Requirements

Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of local and area travel as driver. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled private office with minimal noise.

Must be able to perform job functions independently and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to plan and direct the work activities of self and others. Must be able to read and carry out various complicated written and oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
