Job Summary:

The People Services Coordinator plays a pivotal role in managing HR functions, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and supporting recruitment activities. Responsibilities include maintaining confidential records, facilitating DOT compliance, conducting employee orientation, and supporting payroll processing.

Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):

  • Manage sensitive and confidential information, including records and files in accordance with state and federal laws.
  • Compile, audit and maintain DOT compliance as relates to drug screening, facilitating driver certifications and DOT driver files.
  • Draft offer letters for employment as needed.
  • Conduct new employee orientation and assist with on-boarding/priming process as needed.
  • Assist with the appropriate routing of employee relation issues.
  • Support employee recognition activities.
  • Contribute to and maintain accurate HRIS data, including maintaining and updating org charts.
  • Process and audit payroll, terminations and ad hoc compensation requests.
  • Coordinates and participates in hiring events, community activities, and other public and departmental recruitment-related events.
  • Assists recruitment team with electronic and other methods of sourcing for qualified candidates.
  • Assists recruitment team with screening and initial contact of applicants to determine qualification and interest level.
  • Provide recruitment project support and related services to supervisors, hiring managers, recruitment team members.
  • Generate and prepare identified HR reports as required.
  • Oversee and support timekeeping across multiple projects/sites.
  • Support special initiatives as pertains to People Services.
  • Coordinate required trainings for new hires across teams.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Post High School training in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience in Human resources support
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Effective multitasking skills with keen attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and prioritization abilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and HRMS database systems
  • Working knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws
  • Capacity to work independently under limited supervision.

Nice To Have:

  • BA/BS degree in Human Resources
  • Familiarity with HRIS and payroll processing systems
  • Previous experience with DOT compliance
