 ****MUST HAVE PUNCH PRESS EXPERIENCE****

Job Title: Set-up Operator, Punch Press

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Set-ups and safely operates punch presses to perform blanking, forming, coining, piercing, drawing, swedging,
2. and other similar or related operations.

1. Routinely inspects assigned work to ensure compliance with established job standards.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

1. Required to carefully move, lift and maneuver all raw materials, work in progress, component parts or finished parts to assigned locations.
2. Required to set-up and operate metal shear, saw or grinder in order to size raw materials to specific preliminary dimensions.
3. Safely set-up any and all punch presses, tooling and safety restraints for all assigned punch press operations. Each assigned operation must be set-up with an appropriate combination of equipment and tooling, and all set-ups must adhere to and follow safe work practices.
4. Place parts under the punch or over the die cavity and subsequently cycle the punch press either by foot or hand activated controls.
5. Continuously inspect the integrity of all processed parts to ensure safe, accurate and efficient operation, and periodically checks work for imperfections.
6. The correct safety protection and protocol must be utilized for each assigned operation.
7. Required to maintain an appropriate, clean, and safe work environment.

PRE-DETERMINED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Regular Attendance.
2. Manufacturing Process Aptitude.
3. Ability to use a variety of hand tools, measure devices (micrometers, calipers, etc.) Use of related manufacturing equipment and operating controls.
4. Good written and verbal communication skills.
5. Ability to make sound judgment based on consistent and objective measures.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Ability to sit or stand for 8 consecutive hours.
2. Responsible for properly and carefully handling all instruments and components.
3. Required to properly dispose of or recycle any scrap material generated by any assigned production operation, and are required to maintain an appropriate, clean and safe work environment.
4. Ability to make sound judgment based on consistent and objective measures.
5. Exposure to manufacturing environment, including dust, noise and vibration.
