Accounts Payable Specialist
The ideal candidate for Accounts Payable Specialist will have strong organizational skills and have an ability to accurately track and record cash flow. This candidate should have experience in maintaining a database of financial information and be able to recognize and solve any problems that may arise. The Accounts Payable Specialist will contribute to the processing of invoice payments in a manner consistent with fulfilling the responsibilities defined below in an efficient, accurate and timely manner. They will report to the Controller.
Responsibilities
- Review, code and input invoices from vendors to ensure accuracy in billing
- Perform weekly check runs (process check requests)
- Have knowledge of approved vendors and policies to avoid paying unauthorized invoices and expenses - work with senior staff to resolve
- Assist banking by stopping payments, ordering bank supplies, establish auto-payments, and other online A/P transactions and functions
- Maintain 1099s, verify donations, and reconcile credit cards
- Provide assistance to A/R as needed
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Accounting or equivalent from 2 year college or technical school or 2 years in accounting or related field
- Strong understanding of Accounts Payable processing
- Strong organizational, analytical and mathematical skills
- Detail oriented, strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Office suite, particularly in Excel (Knowledge in Yardi and Timberline preferred)
- Experience in Real Estate is a plus
