What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Mechanical Engineer position at Connected Systems Partners?
We’re looking for a skilled Sr. Mechanical Engineer to lead product design of FDA regulated laboratory automation instruments. The ideal candidate has experience working in multidisciplinary environments and supporting projects from prototyping all the way through to manufacturing.
Please Note: Qualified candidates must be either US Citizen or a US Greencard/Permanent Resident.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a small Mechanical Engineering team, focusing on new product development.
- Use CAD software (SolidWorks) for 3d design concepts and prototyping.
- Translate customer needs into clear design requirements.
- Establish specifications for components, assemblies, and packaging.
- Ensure FDA, ISO, IEC and other compliance standards are managed effectively.
- Participate in design reviews and support the product team.
- Prepare documentation to support manufacturing.
- Facilitate brainstorm session to innovative ideas and solutions.
- Provide sustaining engineering for existing products.
Qualifications:
- 6-10 years of professional experience supporting mechanical engineering, ideally for NPD initiatives.
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, or similar degree
- Strong background in electromechanical automation systems.
- Strong leadership and effective communication skills.
- Expertise in Solidworks - prototyping, and manufacturing processes (CNC, sheet metal, injection molding, etc).
- Preference for candidates that have familiarity with regulatory and quality standards applicable to life sciences instrumentation.
- Bonus points for prior experience in supporting mechanical design for life science automation systems.
Salary : $120,000 - $135,000
