Connecticut Basement Systems is Hiring a Mason Near Seymour, CT

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mason to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in leveling basement floors, constructing walls, and handling formwork and concrete pouring projects. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leveling basement floors using appropriate tools and techniques to ensure a flat and even surface.
  • Building and repairing walls, including both interior and exterior walls, using various materials such as concrete, bricks, concrete blocks, and stones.
  • Performing formwork tasks, including setting up molds and frameworks for pouring concrete.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and construction plans to understand project specifications.
  • Utilizing masonry tools and equipment effectively and safely, including mixers, saws, trowels, and levels.
  • Ensuring all work meets building codes, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Mason, preferably with specific experience in basement leveling, wall construction, and concrete projects.
  • Proficiency in using masonry tools and equipment
  • Ability to operate hydraulic equipment as well as excavators
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Ability to process job site and perform site work
  • Strong understanding of construction techniques and materials.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical strength and stamina to perform manual labor tasks.
  • Good communication skills and ability to train and develop a team
  • Customer Service skills (internal and external )

Education and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational training in masonry is preferred.
  • Any relevant certifications in mansonry or construction would be advantageous.

Additional Requirements:

  • Some carpentry skills preferred
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Willingness to work outdoors and in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
