PROJECT ASSOCIATE, FINANCING PROGRAMS

SUMMARY:

The Connecticut Green Bank (hereafter "Green Bank") is seeking a Project Associate to join its growing Financing Programs team and provide administrative support to the Solar Marketplace Assistance Program ("Solar MAP").

Green Bank, a quasi-public authority, is the nation's first state-level "Green Bank," leveraging public funds to increase and accelerate private investment in the green economy of Connecticut. The Financing Programs team is responsible for the Green Bank's clean energy lending programs, including the Solar MAP. Solar MAP was created to strengthen Connecticut's communities, and support underserved municipal, state agency, and multi-family affordable housing partners access clean energy and energy savings through solar and battery storage projects. The Project Associate will provide administrative support across the team, including preparing project proposals, documentation, and meeting presentations, coordinating project site visits, and supporting the development and implementation of new processes to continue effective operations.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

Individual responsibilities may include:

  • Organizing and tracking program documents through various stages in the project development pipeline;
  • Assisting with project development activities, such as preparing project proposals, meeting presentations and memoranda, and collecting site documents from partners;
  • Supporting the project contracting process such as signature collection and internal approvals;
  • Assisting with Solar MAP's competitive solicitations, including organizing exhibits, coordinating site visits, tracking responses, and communicating with external parties;
  • Communicating and coordinating with internal and external partners, including with the Green Bank's marketing team for necessary program collateral and event support;
  • Scheduling meetings and events for the Solar MAP team;
  • Maintaining program template forms;
  • Providing logistical support for team meetings and events, including note taking and follow-up communications;
  • Creating, updating, and maintaining data records in Microsoft Excel and the Green Bank's Salesforce CRM;
  • Creating and running reports from Salesforce; and,
  • Related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

The following minimum qualifications in knowledge, skill, and ability are required:

  • Demonstrated interest in clean energy and/or clean energy finance through coursework and/or work experience, and a strong willingness to learn;
  • Demonstrated ability to support multiple projects and initiatives in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and work with limited supervision;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with emphasis on internal and external customer service;
  • Ability to work efficiently on assigned tasks independently and as part of a team;
  • Creative problem-solving abilities;
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
  • Experience with Salesforce is highly preferred, but not required.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:

General Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years of professional experience supporting projects or programs.
  • Experience working in residential or commercial solar a plus.

Substitutions Allowed:

  • A bachelor's degree may be substituted for four (4) years of general experience.

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS:

  • This position reports directly to the Associate Director, Financing Programs and supports the Solar MAP team.
  • It is expected that the position will be based in the Green Bank's Hartford, CT offices, with opportunities for some remote work.
  • State of CT benefits package, including generous time-off, health insurance covering medical, dental and vision, retirement, tuition reimbursement for continuing education, and paid leave,
  • Expected salary ranges from $64,000 - $84,000, but the final salary will be commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.
