Overview:
We are hiring for a dedicated company seeking a highly skilled Quality Manager to develop, implement, and manage quality control systems that ensure continuous production of applications aligned with established standards, customer specifications, and production goals. This role involves supervising a team of quality engineers, quality control inspectors, and the sorting department, while ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements, including IATF 16949.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine quality control processes based on customer needs.
- Review and establish specifications for products and processes, including raw material requirements for suppliers.
- Engage in inspection and testing activities to uphold productivity and technical integrity.
- Analyze statistical data to determine quality standards and reliability expectations for finished products.
- Formulate, document, and maintain quality control standards and ongoing objectives.
- Collaborate with production teams to align quality objectives with operational procedures.
- Utilize total quality management tools for analytical and reporting processes.
- Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Design and implement quality control training programs.
- Manage corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes to address nonconformities.
- Oversee Minimum Process Requirements (MPR) to ensure effective change control.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to identify and resolve underlying issues.
- Interact with vendors to ensure the quality of purchased components.
- Schedule production while considering manpower and machine availability.
- Monitor daily quality issues and track production targets.
- Conduct annual performance reviews for sorting associates.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate degree preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Experience: 7-10 years of progressive experience in automotive, fastener, and/or metal manufacturing.
- Leadership: 4 years of leadership experience or leadership development training.
- Auditing: Must have auditing experience (preferably as an IATF 16949 auditor).
- Technical Skills: Proficient in blueprint reading, quality inspection, and understanding of machines and technologies.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with ERP software and quality control software.
- Quality Standards: Knowledge of Minimum Process Requirements (MPR), Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA and company safety guidelines.
- Microsoft Office Suite: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
- Ability to stand and move for 8–10 hour shifts.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time for audits and other duties, including some overnight stays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA training.
- Problem-solving and decision-making training.
