JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Bilingual People and Culture Associate
Reports to: People and Culture Manager
FLSA Status: Non-exempt, Full-time, Hourly (Part-time available as well)
Location: San Rafael, CA
Work Schedule: M-F, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm,
Role With Agency: Recruitment, HR support; Administrative projects
SUMMARY
The Bilingual People and Culture Associate creates a safe, welcoming & inclusive atmosphere. This position will report to the People & Culture Manager and serves as the main point of contact for recruiting all staff members of Conservation Corps North Bay (CCNB). The Associate will be accountable for ensuring that positions are adequately filled with those who are qualified focusing on diversity and inclusion. The Associate will also assist with daily People and Culture administration for our San Rafael and Novato locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Recruitment and Onboarding
  • Is the lead in the recruitment/hiring process by posting jobs, sourcing candidates, performing background screening, and coordinating interviews with department managers
  • Develop and implement innovative and effective recruitment strategies
  • Remains current with DOL laws and regulations
  • Provides weekly recruitment updates to department managers
  • Creates and produces reports to support HR compliance needs
  • Maintain applicant and recruitment database (currently building)
  • Coordinates new hire orientation and onboarding
  • Schedule and conduct exit interviews.
People and Culture Support
  • In collaboration with the P&C Manager, work with managers and staff to address and resolve staff and Corpsmember relations issues
  • Manage the day-to-day workers compensation process, including initiating, tracking, and closing WC claims; and follow up with supervisors
  • Ensure proper compliance with labor laws including wage and hour regulations, FMLA, COBRA, ADA and EEO, unemployment compensation, worker's compensation and other applicable state and federal laws
  • Serves as translator for People and Culture department while maintaining confidentiality
  • Help conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations and provide appropriate recommendations
  • Provide training on organization policy and procedures, as necessary
  • Provides administrative support for the People and Culture i.e. auditing, scanning and filing, and other special projects
Qualifications, Education and Experience :
  • Associates Degree and 2 years Recruitment experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education desired
  • Bilingual in Spanish required
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and data entry skills a must
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality, discretion, tact and diplomacy
  • Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet time-sensitive deadlines with ease
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, oral communication skills; excellent human relations skills (conflict resolution, counseling, coaching)
  • Excellent track record of punctuality and attendance
  • Positive and outgoing personality; ability to connect with others with ease
  • Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and ATS, and Social Media
  • CA Driver's License with clean DMV driving record
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is required to walk; use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Perform simple grasping and fine manipulation. There are normal office working conditions and associated physical demands. For example, on a continuous basis, sit at a desk using a computer and in meetings for long periods of time. Intermittently twist to reach equipment surrounding desk, as well as, repetitive finger movements with office and computer machinery. May be expected to lift and move containers weighing up to 25 lbs. Other situations include sitting at a desk using a computer and in meetings and driving for long periods of time.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The starting pay hourly range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00. This can be a full-time position which is eligible for a benefits package including employer sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision and Chiropractic care for the employee (dependents will be out of pocket), 403(b) plan with an employer match after one year of service, and a generous PTO plan with accruals starting at 18 days per year with an additional 11 paid holidays.
