Constant Contact is Hiring a Remote Senior Data Systems Analyst - Data Privacy

We have an opening for a Senior Data Systems Analyst with a robust background in systems analysis and enterprise data management to lead the implementation of our data privacy initiatives. This role goes beyond traditional privacy analysis by requiring deep technical expertise in data lineage, dependencies, SQL, and the ability to work closely with testers, developers, and other cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience implementing data privacy tools, drawing out complex system dependencies, and ensuring data integrity and compliance across the enterprise.

What you'll do:

  • Lead Implementation of Data Privacy Tools: Implement and manage advanced data privacy technologies, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices within complex enterprise environments
  • Enterprise Data Lineage & System Dependencies: Establish, maintain, and document detailed data lineage across the organization, identifying dependencies and potential privacy risks. Collaborate with IT and data management teams to ensure accuracy and comprehensiveness
  • Systems Analysis & Integration: Perform in-depth systems analysis to understand the interaction between different data sources, applications, and workflows. Develop and implement integrations between data management tools, including workflow engineering, scripting, API integrations, and system interoperability
  • SQL Expertise: Utilize strong SQL skills to query, analyze, and manipulate data across various databases, supporting data lineage documentation, data classification, and privacy-related analytics. Work with developers and database administrators to optimize SQL queries for efficiency and accuracy
  • Collaborative Development: Work closely with testers, developers, and other stakeholders to design and implement data privacy controls, ensuring seamless integration into existing systems and processes. Provide technical guidance and support to ensure successful deployment and operation.
  • Data Lifecycle Management: Implement and oversee data lifecycle management processes, including data retention and deletion in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Provide expert knowledge on global privacy laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA), ensuring that all data privacy practices align with the latest legal standards. Conduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to mitigate privacy risks.
  • Incident Monitoring & Response: Monitor and analyze privacy incidents, breaches, and complaints. Ensure timely reporting, root cause analysis, and remediation efforts to prevent future occurrences.
  • Emerging Trends & Best Practices: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and regulatory changes in data privacy and security, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of compliance and data protection.

Who you are:

  • 5 years of proven experience in implementing data privacy tools and systems within a complex enterprise environment, with a strong emphasis on data lineage, system analysis, and SQL (advanced SQL skills are necessary to be successful in this role)
  • Extensive experience in data classification methodologies, data lineage documentation, and identifying system dependencies
  • In-depth knowledge of global privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and other relevant frameworks
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in data privacy management platforms (DPMs), workflow engineering, scripting, API integration, and system interoperability
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to navigate complex privacy and systems analysis challenges
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams and translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Relevant certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPT, or equivalent are highly desirable
  • Experience in conducting PIAs and developing privacy policies and procedures is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in Privacy, Data Protection, or Information Security are a plus.
