Consulting Services Group, LLC is Hiring a Software Quality Assurance Developer Near Las Vegas, NV

General PurposeConsulting Services Group (CSG) is seeking a highly-skilled Software Quality Assurance Developer who plays a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. They collaborate with cross-functional teams, utilizing Scrum and Agile DevSecOps methodologies to validate functionality, security, and performance. Their focus is on delivering high-quality software that meets customer expectations.
Responsibilities
  • Scrum and Agile Integration:
    • Work closely with development teams during sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily stand-ups.
    • Collaborate on defining acceptance criteria for user stories.
    • Participate in sprint reviews and retrospectives.
  • Functional Testing:
    • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
    • Validate software functionality against requirements.
    • Identify defects and work with developers to resolve issues.
  • Security and Compliance Testing:
    • Conduct security testing (e.g., vulnerability assessments, penetration testing).
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., OWASP, NIST).
  • Performance Testing:
    • Evaluate system performance under various conditions (load, stress, scalability).
    • Optimize software performance.
  • Validation and Acceptance:
    • Validate software changes before customer testing.
    • Collaborate with management and stakeholders to ensure acceptance criteria are met.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain detailed test documentation, checklists, and plans for others to replicate.
    • Report defects and track their resolution via the SDLC.
  • Collaborate with Code Repositories:
    • Manage and maintain code in code repositories (e.g., Git, GitHub) effectively.
    • Organize repositories using clear naming conventions¹.
    • Classify repositories with relevant topics to enhance discoverability and collaboration.
    • Regularly review code changes and pull requests of self-produced code and code from others.
    • Code Comments and Documentation:
      • Add meaningful comments within the codebase to explain logic, algorithms, and complex sections.
      • Document design decisions, trade-offs, and architectural choices.
      • Keep the wiki documentation up to date, providing context and usage instructions.
      • Explain code contributions in the repository for better readability and understanding by others.
      • Perform other duties assigned by management.
    Required Experience
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen
    • Documentation —Ability to draft requirements documents, correspondence, and procedures in accordance with policies.
    • Procedures and Processes — Ability to provide explanations of complex technical procedures and processes clearly and accurately to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Writing — Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
    • Previous experience in a computer-related role (e.g., software development, testing).
    • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in software quality assurance.
Desired Experience:
  • Strong understanding of Scrum and Agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices.
  • Proficiency in test case design and execution.
  • Knowledge of security testing tools and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
Security Clearance: Must have an active DOD U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance with ability to obtain SCI.
Work EnvironmentWork is typically performed in an office environment, requiring the use of computer terminals and standard office equipment to accomplish work objectives
Employee Status: Full-Time
Job Location: Temporarilly Remote (work from home) with the understanding that the work will be performed on-site once the facility is opened.
Salary: Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary Range for this position is $76,600 to $114,800.
TravelMinimal travel to on-site locations required, to support stand-up efforts or for training/introduction to system or to support customer meetings as requested by management
