GENERAL PURPOSE:

Consulting Services Group (CSG) is a premier provider of support services, bringing a new and unique level of subject matter expertise to our clients, with a focus on intelligence, communication solutions, information technology, social media, and logistics.

We are seeking a Sr. Systems Administrator to support our team in Herndon, VA. Competitive candidates will be self-motivated, organized, and eager to learn. Outstanding communication skills are a must. You will have the opportunity to lead projects and work on other medium to large projects. Duties include working on teams responsible for making purchase recommendations, maintenance, installation, configuration, deployment and management of enterprise-wide infrastructure and software systems. You will perform systems security administration functions, including developing user profiles, accounts, group policy and maintaining system documentation. You will also develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. You may be assigned responsibility for mentoring and managing less experienced staff.

Responsibilities:

· Work on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope following detailed instructions.

· Configure software and resolve technical problems on servers.

· Advise IT Director on hardware/software integration and scheduling.

· Manage Microsoft Entra, Active Directory, and domain configurations.

· Scripting and automation using tools such as Powershell, Ansible, Teraform, etc.

· Track and maintain lifecycle requirements and recommend replacement, upgrade, or termination of hardware/software.

· Provide technical support to program employees for complex system issues or problems as well as mentor and cultivate fellow talented staff members.

· Perform scans, maintenance, and patching on a routine basis at the host level to ensure optimal system performance, security, and compliance.

· CSG Help Desk ticketing system responsibilities for change management (CM) and request for change (RFC) management (help desk function).

· Familiarity with Elastic stack, Nutanix, VMware, as well as network routing and switching.

Required Qualifications:

· Experienced with frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, and theories.

· Minimum of 7 years of System Administrator experience.

· Considered an emerging authority, who applies extensive technical expertise.

· Experienced in server administration and system administration.

· Familiarity with Elastic stack, Nutanix, VMware, as well as network routing and switching.

Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in a closely related field, or equivalent experience required.

Clearance:

Must have current/active DOD Secret security clearance.

Work Environment

Work is typically performed in an office environment, requiring the use of computer terminals and standard office equipment to accomplish work objectives. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 pounds. .

Minimal local travel in the DC metro area required.
