Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist for one of our clients. The ideal candidate will have expertise in inventory AP, the 3-way match process, trade payables, and cost adjustments. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, maintaining precise records, and identifying discrepancies to support financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process inventory accounts payable, including 3-way match verification (invoice, purchase order, and receiving report).
- Manage trade payables and ensure timely payment of vendor invoices.
- Perform cost adjustments and verify the accuracy of expense coding.
- Accurately key invoices into the accounting system, ensuring all information is complete and correct.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in invoices, purchase orders, and receiving reports.
- Reconcile accounts and assist with month-end closing processes.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments to resolve any billing issues or discrepancies.
- Proven experience in accounts payable, specifically with inventory AP and the 3-way match process.
- Strong understanding of trade payables and cost adjustments.
- Exceptional attention to detail and keying accuracy.
- Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies effectively.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience in a similar industry or environment.
- Knowledge of ERP systems.
