Job Description
- Utilize payroll software to accurately and promptly calculate and process employee payroll
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations by verifying hours worked, overtime, and deductions
- Promptly address employee inquiries and resolve any payroll-related discrepancies
- Process vendor invoices and employee expense reports
- Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents, securing necessary approvals for payment
- Execute electronic payments in adherence to payment terms, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire transfers
- Maintain precise records of payroll and accounts payable transactions, conducting journal entries and reconciliations
- Reconcile payroll and accounts payable accounts to guarantee the accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Prepare month-end and year-end reports and support financial audits as necessary
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations, including withholding, reporting, and remittance requirements
- Accurately prepare and file payroll tax returns and other statutory reports within designated timeframes
- Identify opportunities to streamline payroll and accounts payable processes, enhancing overall efficiency
- Recommend and implement process improvements, automation solutions, and best practices to boost accuracy and productivity
- Proficiency with payroll software
- Demonstrated understanding of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
