The Project Engineer will be an integral part of the engineering team, supporting the Project Manager in all operational aspects of construction projects.
Essential Duties
- Assist in coordinating and scheduling subcontractors and other resources.
- Serve as the primary liaison between field operations and the central accounting department, ensuring accurate timekeeping and job cost accounting.
- Collaborate with Area and Project Superintendents to develop short-term working schedules and track material needs.
- Document quantities and field measurements for progress payments.
- Generate Daily Extra Work Reports and submit them to Contract Administration for review.
- Attend construction site meetings or pre-construction meetings as required.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing company procedures and regulations.
- Process and track all submittals and Requests for Information (RFIs).
- Handle Staking Requests and prepare traffic control plans, scheduling weekly lane closures.
- Perform takeoffs for plan changes and create daily time cards using HCSS, monitoring and adjusting field-generated time cards.
- Provide administrative support for remote offices, including answering phones, scanning documents, filing, ordering supplies, and processing mail.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and project specifications.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Basic proficiency in scheduling software, such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft P6.
