Project Engineer ( Civil Construction)

The Project Engineer will be an integral part of the engineering team, supporting the Project Manager in all operational aspects of construction projects.
Essential Duties:

• Assist in coordinating and scheduling subcontractors and other resources.
• Serve as the primary liaison between field operations and the central accounting department, ensuring accurate timekeeping and job cost accounting.
• Collaborate with Area and Project Superintendents to develop short-term working schedules and track material needs.
• Document quantities and field measurements for progress payments.
• Generate Daily Extra Work Reports and submit them to Contract Administration for review.
• Attend construction site meetings or pre-construction meetings as required.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing company procedures and regulations.
• Process and track all submittals and Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Handle Staking Requests and prepare traffic control plans, scheduling weekly lane closures.
• Perform takeoffs for plan changes and create daily time cards using HCSS, monitoring and adjusting field-generated time cards.
• Provide administrative support for remote offices, including answering phones, scanning documents, filing, ordering supplies, and processing mail.

Skills Required:

• Proficiency in reading blueprints and project specifications.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Basic proficiency in scheduling software, such as Primavera P6 and Microsoft P6.

Education: A Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Construction Management, or an Associate’s Degree in Construction Management or a related field is required.
