The role:

We are seeking an adaptable and results-oriented Attorney with at least 7-10 years experience practicing and 3-5 years managing to contribute to the continued expansion and success of our current team. As the Lead attorney, you will be responsible for managing associate attorneys, (and by proxy their teams of paralegals) in addition to developing and executing comprehensive strategies to enhance the firm's structure and client satisfaction. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of the legal landscape and a proven track record of successfully managing teams. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Manage, motivate, and develop associate attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to strengthen our legal team.
• Assist in managing all aspects of the team, including caseload, coaching, meetings, advising, preparing for trials, organizing caseload, research, drafting or reviewing documents, and representing clients in negotiations or court.
• Represent and grow your own caseload (particularly complex cases) to continue your practice as an attorney.
• Keep current on the latest industry trends and developments.
• Help translate the team goals and priorities into strategic plans.
• Report on key operational and substantive metrics for the practice that will better inform decision-making, including matter and work product analyses.
• Ensure that the team is achieving its goals by evaluating productivity, quality of service and making recommendations for improvement.
• Collaborate with leadership and colleagues to brainstorm strategies, share knowledge, and contribute to the overall success of the company.
• Define, drive and inspire execution and efficiency.
• Be a visible leader and figurehead of the department.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience:

• Juris Doctorate required
• Barred in NY required
• 7-10 years of practical experience
• 3-5 years managerial or leadership experience
• Experience working in a start-up or small business is preferred
• Strong leadership skill
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities within tight time constraints
• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strategic thinking and analytical skills.

Computer Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and related mail operation services software applications.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as legal files, business correspondence and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and business correspondence; ability to speak effectively, both in person and by telephone, to customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs; ability to understand and interpret statistical reports, data charts and graphs.
