Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a highly motivated Human Resource Generalist to join our client in Jacksonville, FL! This position involves assisting in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs for sourcing, recruiting, hiring, and orienting new team members, as well as performing transactional HR duties and responsibilities as necessary. This Direct-Hire opportunity offers $75,000-$85,000/year!
Responsibilities:
Assist in workforce planning by assessing current and future workforce needs, including understanding government influence, economic conditions, business competition, and workforce demographics.
Source external candidates, including phone screening candidates, conducting new hire orientations, etc.
Assist with Affirmative Action Tracking, applicant tracking, background checks, and legal compliance.
Screen applications/resumes and select qualified applicants for the interview process.
Attend and participate in job fairs, as well as establish partnerships with organizations.
Assist with employee benefits administration.
Conduct exit interviews and additional surveys to monitor retention and engagement.
Maintain employee files.
Guide applicants through the onboarding paperwork, prepare materials for start date, and e-verify them within allowed time.
Update the Onboarding and Core HR systems.
Produce timely reports.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as company policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources/related field, or equivalent work experience, required.
1-3 years’ experience in talent acquisition highly preferred. Experience in the construction/electrical industry is preferred.
Thorough knowledge and practical application of EEO laws, I-9 employment and eligibility verification, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, state law regulation of employment contracts, such as noncompete agreements or confidentiality requirements.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.
Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
