Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Regulatory Accountant to join our client for a remote opportunity (preferably in Delaware or Florida). The Regulatory Accountant will be responsible for managing regulatory filings and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. This role involves preparing and presenting reports, analyzing regulatory issues, and serving as a liaison between the company and regulatory agencies. This Contract opportunity offers $45-$50/Hour!

Primary Responsibilities:

• Oversee filings, audits, and special projects, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
• Act as the main contact for regulatory bodies like FERC and state Public Service Commissions; maintain positive relationships.
• Communicate policy positions to regulators, relay feedback internally, and represent the company at regulatory events.
• Conduct and report on accounting, tax, financial, and economic analyses for regulatory matters.
• Create cost of service studies and revenue requirements to ensure cost recovery and optimize earnings.
• Provide direction and leadership within the department and project teams.
• Prepare and deliver testimony for regulatory proceedings.
• Ensure all filings and applications are accurate and timely.
• Help develop and maintain competitive rate structures to maximize earnings.
• Support planning, operational decisions, and tariff compliance across departments.
• Evaluate regulatory impacts, recommend strategies, and prepare agreements for business development.
• Stay updated on regulatory and competitive business issues and their impacts on the company.
• Perform other related duties and assignments as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in a regulated energy business environment, with a focus on quantitative and analytical work.
• Strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills.
• Proven project management experience.
• Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently and lead or participate in team settings.
• High personal standards of commitment and integrity.
