Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a seasoned Senior Liability Claims Adjuster to join our client for a hybrid opportunity in Newhaven, CT! his role involves providing exceptional claims handling services for a variety of public entities, including municipalities, educational boards, and local public agencies. This Direct-Hire opportunity is offering $90,000-$120,000/year!

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough investigations of first and third-party claims.
  
• Document material claim facts following our internal liability claims procedures.
  
• Assess and determine liability, including the application of statutory legal defenses and immunities.
  
• Manage a diverse caseload involving auto liability, general liability, and professional lines liability (e.g., law enforcement, school leaders, and public officials).
  
• Ensure timely and accurate coverage assessments and draft appropriate coverage letters for policyholders.
  
• Maintain effective oversight of complex, litigated claims in both state and federal courts.
  
• Deliver superior customer service and collaborate effectively with internal teams.
  
• Participate in virtual and in-person claim reviews, settlement conferences, and mediations.
  
• Present claims at internal discussions and advisory meetings.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Extensive knowledge of auto, general liability, property damage, bodily injury, and professional lines insurance coverages.
  
• At least 5-7 years of experience managing high exposure, complex liability claims.
  
• Proven track record in negotiating claims and achieving cost-effective resolutions.
  
• Working knowledge of federal and state court processes and procedures.
  
• Experience in litigation management, including directing defense counsel.
  
• Ability to analyze claim documentation and legal filings, and to draft comprehensive coverage letters.
  
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  
• Strong decision-making abilities, with a focus on strategic early settlement opportunities.
  
• Effective time management skills and prompt response to external communications (phone/email).
