This role is would ideally be based in one of our three offices where we offer a hybrid work schedule with four days in the office; and one day remote where it makes sense to do so.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Property Sr Claims Representative, you’ll investigate moderate to highly complex commercial property claims in a prompt, equitable manner by analyzing coverage, compensability and damages; evaluating reserves; and negotiating settlement or conclusion of claim. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven ability to handle complex coverage, and damage issues.
You'll be an integral member of a small but high-performing team handling Commercial Property claims for a very diverse book of business that empowers you to be strategic when resolving claims and in turn enables you to provide excellent customer service by keeping stakeholders informed and managing their expectations. We believe in providing our claims professionals the autonomy to direct how the claim unfolds as well as the accessibility to decisive decision-makers so you're able to move quickly when delivering resolution.

- Examine and analyze policies, contracts and claim forms to determine coverage.
- Investigate loss in a prompt manner by telephone, correspondence or through Independent Adjuster’s to determine the extent of the Company’s policy obligation. Requests necessary reports, e.g., police reports, fire reports, property damage inspections, etc.
- Establish accurate claim reserves and re-evaluates exposures and reserves during the life of the claim. Correctly enter claim data and file documentation into claim and related systems for reporting purposes. Negotiate settlement or conclusion of claim.
- Consult with Litigation Specialist, Claims Supervisor or Claims Manager when claim cannot be resolved and moves into litigation. Collaborate with Home Office Claims staff on claim files in subrogation, arbitration and salvage recovery.
- Five years related Commercial Property claims experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment; and quickly and professionally respond to inquiries from customers.
- Possess strong customer orientation; problem analysis and problem resolution skills; and interpersonal and communication skills.
- Regularly and consistently demonstrates commitment to company values and guiding principles.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
- Completion of or working toward AIC, CPCU, SCLA or similar designation.
